Photography Contest

This contest is only open to members of the North Bay Horticultural Society. 

Show Theme: Summer Sightings

General Rules for the Photography Show  Entries are to be on the show tables at 7:00 PM and remain on the tables until the end of the evening

Photography Exhibitors  

• Adult exhibitor must be a paid member of the North Bay Horticultural Society or other OHA group
• A tag must accompany each photo. Each tag must include exhibitor's name and the class the photo is to be entered in
• Exhibitors are responsbile for the correctness of the information on the tag
• Photos will be viewed by those in attendance and on our social media

Number of Entries, specifications, etc.

• One entry per exhibitor, per class, is permitted unless otherwise stated
• The photo must be the work of the Exhibitor
• Photos are to be in colour, unless otherwise stated
• Maximum photo size is 8"X10". No mats are permitted. 
• Photos should be flat and can be attachd to stiff paper if needed
• Photos must include horitcultural material

Judging

• The Judge's decision is final
• No exhibit will be awarded a prize unless, in the opinion of the Judge, the photo possesses sufficient merit, even though it may be the only entry in the class

Show Committee

• The Show Chair has the authority to add, split or remove a class in the show if the number of entries warrants it. 

Photography Classes

• Water - Capture a pond, lake, stream, puddle, fountain or falling rain in a wide setting. The landscape is important
• Colour - Show us the colour in the garden
• Paths or Trails - Your interpretation
• Small Wings - Who is flying in your garden? Butterflies, moths, dragonflies, wasps, bees and ladybugs
• Upcycled Plant Pots - Filled with vegetables,herbs, flowers. The interesting container is your choice. Please name your flowers or vegetables

Photography Points

• 1st - 8 points
• 2nd - 6 points
• 3rd - 4 points
• Best in show will receive an additional 10 points
