This year’s Communities in Bloom theme – Edible Gardens highlights how growing our own food fosters sustainability, resilience, and a deeper connection to nature. As food insecurity persists in affecting communities, this theme highlights the numerous advantages of cultivating your own food. From vegetable and herb gardens to fruit-producing plants such as berries, tomatoes, and peppers, edible gardens serve as a potent means to promote sustainability, support local ecosystems, and strengthen community bonds.
